CharitAble is a charity camping feeding the needy people in different districts. We are a group of youths from different places in Nepal. The group is led by Gaurav Kumar Thakur aka GK Thakur along with the active members like Amit Pandey, Rahul Mishra, Bibek Yadav, Ashiqui Jha, Saurav Jha, Shreya Mishra, Soni Thakur and Ananya Gupta. We are working in from our level as a team to bring positive change in society. Starting just a few weeks back, we have already successfully run our camping in 6 different districts feeding over 200 needy families.

“CharitAble is an evolving idea that believes in resource sharing in hard times like this pandemic”, says CharitAble President Mr. Amit Pandey from Mahottari. He adds if CharitAble singly-handled could uphold 200 families in just a few weeks; just think of the bigger picture here when more people would join our campaign we would have enough and endless resources. He acknowledges the exertion of the youths who joined CharitAble’s Campaign ‘we be the change’ and helped us put food on the table of actual needy ones.
We along with our volunteers visit door to door in every village, following all safety and precautionary measures. We first do the survey and find out who actually needs the support, to whom our help matters the most. Since our resources for time being are limited, we ensure that those resources (food and sanitary items) are being circulated to deserving families, says Rahul Mishra from Rautahat, the Vice President of CharitAble. It isn’t an easy job when COVID-19 infection circumstance is escalating in Nepal with this subsequent fierceness but someone has to do it. There is a group of people who are not even able to manage the cost of their living. The fundamentals for endurance, food, and materials, they can’t bear the cost of because of unemployment and being quarantined for so long. And I feel proud to be a part of this campaign through CharitAble, says Mr. Mishra.
Organising the food distribution was a challenge in itself. We needed to follow the pandemic conventions which was the least of the worries considering the exertion we needed to make to move the assets to the circulation spot with each one of that police posing inquiries, investigating the process. There were also political obstacles since the local politicians needed the credit for our work as well. Additionally, we had local revolt developing at dissemination setting as few people were despondent about them not being in the list of receiving aid despite their good prudent circumstance, says Treasurer of CharitAble, Ashiqui Jha from Kathmandu.
Bibek Yadav, Secretary of CharitAble from Rautahat quotes, “greater idea needs greater implementation.” Although having our highs and lows since the beginning working alongside CharitAble has been a delight and very fulfilling. We asked for the contribution of food and materials to people who we knew can during which few appreciated our thought and helped whereas some thought it was a political campaign and turned us down. Few occurrences of discourteousness to our volunteers were demotivating at times but I helped them cheer up showing the bigger picture and the impact we are making, says Mr. Yadav. Our volunteers were scared because of COVID-19 and the way the pubic shows no support in a few places. But we as a group made it happen. CharitAble’s campaign has been a success till now and I am sure with all your help, we will do achieve success.
Ananya Gupta, the Program Coordinator of CharitAble originally from Rautahat says, “though being away from home in a foreign land in the United States, she used to be very sad reading in the news every day that people back home are dying each day due to unemployment and hunger during the COVID-19 pandemic.” She adds, “before being a member of CharitAble she along with her family members have already donated food and hygienic soap of NRs. 85,000 to 135 needy family in her birthplace, Auraiya (Ishnath Municipality) of Rautahat district.” When she first came to know the great work being done by CharitAble she was really impressed and also joined the campaign when she was approached by one of the executive members, Rahul Mishra to support the campaign of feeding hundreds of thousands of needy people and family. Since then, she has contributed financially and intellectually to CharitAble by working together as one team and has promised to give continuity to it.
